NBA FINALS

GAME 7 SWEEP!

Celtics Side AND Total!

Here's what I told my clients about these winners...

CELTICS

Take the points with the Celtics tonight.

I can’t see the Lakers extending the final tonight, if they even win.

Boston is not going to get blown out in back-to-back games here.

The Celts were a win away from their 18th championship on Tuesday and they’re still one win away from it.

Obviously the Lakers have the home court advantage here, but the Celtics destroyed them at Staples in Game 2, so it’s not like this is mission impossible.

Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis, Rasheed Wallace and Nate Robinson have all made major contributions during this series for the Celts.

As far as the Lakers, you have Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol as the main contributors and a whole bunch of question marks after that.

I have a feeling this game is going down to the wire.

The points are definitely the play.

Take the points with Boston.

Celtics-Lakers UNDER

I like the under for many of the reasons I listed above.

Boston has great depth and plays outstanding defense, so you don’t see a falloff in production when the reserves are getting their minutes.

The Lakers rely on Kobe and Gasol for most of their offense, but struggle to get points from anyone else.

The under is 18-7-1 in Boston’s last 26 versus the Pacific Division, and the under is 4-1-1 in this series.

Take the under as this one stays low.

WINNER #2

IN A ROW

Lakers over Suns

Think I was dialed in on my analysis for the Lakers?

Here's what I told my clients...

Lay the wood with the Lakers in Game 2 tonight over the Suns.

There’s no way the Suns hang tonight.  The Lakers proved their superiority in Game 1 and they actually could have played better.

That’s what scary about tonight.  The Lakers could actually win by more than the 21 points they did in the last game.

Phoenix is 1-4 SUATS against Los Angeles this year.  In fact, the Lakers have won eight of the last 10 SU in this rivalry and 10 of the last 14 ATS.  The Suns are 0-4 ATS in their last four visits to the Staples Center, losing all four games by double-digits.

The SU winner is 12-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings between these two.

Take the Lakers as they win by 12.

(Final Score: Lakers 124, Suns 112)

Time to make some serious noise.

I know football season is knocking on the door and I'm going to make sure we start off playing with our man's money.

You only accomplish that by racking up some winners on the diamond and I'm going to get us going on a memorable weekend.

Starting today!

If you have any doubt whatsoever about my side, please stay away.  The last thing I need is doubters or haters trying to ruin the mojo I'm about to deliver.

One play today, that's all we need.

If you're a believer get with me.  You won't be disappointed!

Who is Matt Rivers?

Handicapping games for a living is fun and games. My friends and acquaintances have always marveled at my ability to make money for myself and my clients.

Sometimes, however, real life situations get in the way. Such was the case when I left the business on August 8, 2009.

First, a little background: Along with Jeff Benton and Trace Adams, I was one of the premier handicappers at SportsInfo.com since its inception in 2005. And I came into this business through my association with Steve Budin, who is CEO of this site as well as that one.

But last August I walked away from it all because of an illness in my immediate family. And when that illness resulted in an unexpected death a few months later, I didn't have the heart or resolve to immediately return to handicapping or betting games for a living.

Let me tell you, it was surreal not playing football this year, just watching games as a fan. But you can't take three months of a football season off and suddenly decide to start betting effectively again. This business is not like riding a bike; it takes preparation and research to get back into the saddle again like a champ.

Once I decided to return to work, I focused only on basketball. And then I waited patiently until Steve Budin could find a spot for me in his family of sites; there was no other choice because once you've worked here, you would never go anywhere else.

An opening never appeared on SportsInfo.com, but with the firing of Charley Sutton here at PickNation.com, I've found a new home.

As for me, my commitment to making money for myself and my clients is just as strong as its always been. I've been handicapping games since the basketball season started in November. I've waited patiently to get back into the game and I'm here to stay.
